The "Development puzzles" programme
The Ferdi website will post a regular “development puzzle” in the development domain. The aim will be to highlight conflicting findings and suggest an explanation for them.

This first puzzle concerns a now well-known paradox highlighted several years ago in work by the CERDI; its interpretation is still a subject of debate. The increasing importance of distance in bilateral exchanges appears to challenge what is commonly called “the death of distance”.
