Fayçal Sawadogo, doctorant au Cerdi et assistant de recherche à la Ferdi, est intervenu sur la question de la fiscalité des entreprises de télécommunications en Afrique.

On April 17, 2019, Fayçal Sawadogo, PhD candidate  at CERDI and research assistant at FERDI, participated in the Made in Africa session. This session addressed several issues including digital divide, connectivity, financial inclusion, taxation, communication and health.

Fayçal Sawadogo discussed on the taxation of telecommunication companies in Africa : The tax pressure on the sector through the Average Effective Tax Rate, the instability of tax regimes, the need for specific taxation reforms and public financial management were the subject of his presentation. The main conclusion is that the moderation of specific taxation could lead to better access to telecommunications services for populations, higher tax revenues for governments, and higher net cash flows for operators.
